1; Plant native flowers.

3; Cut areas of grass to different lengths at different times and leave some uncut long grass.
4; Create a variety of sheltered areas- by planting hedges, creating log heaps and building bug hotels.
5; Put up various types of nesting bird boxes for Swifts / Blue Tits etc
6; Create bare soil areas or drill holes in wood for Solitary bee`s.
7; Create butterfly banks.
8; Place a tin sheet out in a sunny spot.
9; Put up roosting box`s for bats.

This simple method just involves placing a metal roofing sheet on the ground in a sunny spot, this will attract grass snakes and field mice.

This is an easy way to attract a diverse variety of wildlife, as the solitary bee`s will use the logs with holes drilled in them and woodlice and beetles will be at home in the wood stacks crevices and rotting wood.
This type of box is for Swifts, but you may also get bats and Blue Tits use them. Best situated on a North facing wall under the roofing boards, in colony numbers, we have put 5 up on our house.
