We have been talking to Anthony McClusky of the Butterfly Conservation organisation, he has done a couple of site visits to see what he can find.
So, we have just found a potentially new colony of the Northern Brown Argus butterfly (Spring 2025), as I found some Common Rock Rose onsite and Anthony on his visit found it had eggs on it. Great start, so we are now discussing how to help this newly found colony to expand its population on the farm.
We borrowed a moth trap in the Autumn of 2024 and these are some of the moths trapped and released from our house front garden. Not on the warmest of nights either, so cant wait to get some more trapping done in the future.
We have our own trap now, so lets see what we can find in 2026.
