Glassie Bike Park

We have been developing the Glassie Bike Park site by planting over 1,500 trees each of the past 3 years. This has helped to create fantastic wildlife corridors along the Core Path area that goes through the site. The first of many nature  and wildlife restoration focussed projects for the site.

Back in 2023; Marcus and Kris talking to Greg Jolliffe about the possibility of building a track at the bike park in the future. At present the land is a poorly cleared clear fell site, that is hardly usable because of the brash that was left behind. We are talking to them as they have the same ethos as us, which is to make things work for nature and people.

April 2024; Work has now started on a new downhill track, exciting times.

Mossy Earth

The start of planting around the new trail, so far we have planted 43 of the following; Silver Birch / Oak / Dog Rose and Crab Apples, with Aspen to come. These will all hopefully eventually create a wind break for the riders and a great habitat for birds and other wildlife. Especially for the ones who will feast on the crab apples / acorns and rose hips.
